The Series tells the story of Empire.
WWI - "The Great War" - "TRENCH ORDERS"
The Scarf design is based on the Trench Maps of the Western Front. The design also uses the 'Allies' Flags as Motifs, along with the new developments in weaponry, such as tanks, machine guns, barbed wire, artillery and aircraft.
During the War, British Troops on the Western Front were issued with Trench Orders. An Official administrative Rule Book and standing instructions; to govern daily discipline, survival and routine operations on the Front Line. This is where the Scarf Design gets its Title.
Often referred to as The Great War, due to it's enormous scale, unprecedented destruction and massive number of casualties. Making it like no other conflict in human history up to that point.
Starting on July 28th 1914 and finally ending on November 11th 1918 causing an estimated 22million deaths.
"That there's some corner of a foreign field. That is forever England." - The Soldier - R Brooke
